Henry Smith are pleased to announce that we’ll be working alongside Kier Group as the Steelwork Contractor on the redevelopment of Manor Park Hospital in Aylesbury.

Having worked with Kier Group on HMP Featherstone, Henry Smith meet the Achilles Accreditation that Kier require, which demonstrates a high level of quality assurance.

The project consists of a multi-ward mental health unit and new resource centre with ancillary facilities and will provide the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust with improved and flexible accommodation to enhance the delivery of patient care.

As well as structural steelwork, Henry Smith are supplying and installing upper-floor metal decking, pre-cast concrete stairs and proprietary edge protection system to floors and roofs.

Henry Smith Wins Another Warehouse Contract

Warehouse construction is one of the core aspects of Henry Smith’s business, so we were pleased to be awarded the steelwork contract for the new National Logistics Hub for APC Overnight on Kingswood Lakeside in Cannock, Staffordshire.

Working with a new client, Buckingham Group, we’ll be providing the steelwork and erection for the 128,000 square foot facility, employing around 500 staff and increasing the previous throughput threefold.

The £14 million project includes the purpose built warehouse operation as well as a detached office unit and will mean the safeguarding of 300 jobs and the creation of a further 150.

Henry Smith Is Building Schools For The Future

Henry Smith has an established history of building schools, colleges and universities, so with our expertise, Balfour Beatty Construction have awarded us the contract for the prestigious St Margarets Ward in Tunstall, Stoke.

The project involves re-organisation of the school’s faculties, provision of a three court sports hall and circulation improvements around the site to provide an enhanced and improved learning environment in keeping with the ethos of the school. And Henry Smith know all about keeping disruption to the students to a minimum!

Of course, as with any project, Henry Smith will be using local labour and suppliers as much as possible, to generate and retain revenue within the local region.

Henry Smith wins contract for “City Sentral” Bus Station

Henry Smith are thrilled that they have won the contract to provide the steelwork for the new landmark “City Sentral” Bus Station in Stoke-on-Trent.

We’re working with main contractor, Vinci, on the development which will be part of a multi-million pound project and are looking forward to building a long-standing relationship with our new client.

The bus station will be the key to the re-development of Stoke city centre, as once the new bus station is operational, it will enable the old bus station to be demolished and the retail development to begin.

The station will provide a state-of-the-art facility with a semi-circular enclosed passenger concourse around two sides.
