John Lennon Liverpool Airport has undergone a recent £130million investment of which we were proud to be a part. Our second project in conjunction with our client, McLaren Construction Ltd, required us to work alongside a live terminal and operational runway – a complex project for which we needed the appropriate security clearances!
We used tubular curved trusses in the construction to the extension of the Terminal building and also worked on the refurbishment and remodelling of an aircraft hangar, which was incorporated into the main building as offices. We provided full connection design, shot-blasting, painting, steel stairs, decking and full erection – quite a complex job.
A key to this project was to offer minimal disruption to the UK’s 10th busiest and fastest growing regional airport!
